I did this piece during a time in my life when I was struggling with school and trying to figure out what direction I needed to take... the reason for the tittle is to imply that i'm searching for "peace of mind" among all this confusion... this is a dramatic piece, meant to make you feel in a way how I felt at the time.

Dude, this one affects me. I don't know why. Good piece.
ReplyDeleteDwight - still think there is too much black that obscures all the other great drawings seen in your draft. The draft was fabulous in getting the concept out. But there is so much black in the middle, too much is lost. Is there a way you can hand color in the black? It's too difficult to see the main guy's hand on his head and his hunched body.
ReplyDeleteThis one keeps my eyes moving. I am not a fan of modern art, but this is intriging. I see to aliens talking to each other, but there are people coming out of their heads. ??? :-)
ReplyDeletethe title is Peace of Mind. when I look at it it invokes in me some confusion and anxiety. Its the amount of black that does it to me. Would it soften my feelings if the black in the lower half were a grey instead? But leave the black around the man kneeling.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bish. I think the name should maybe be changed because when I see the word "peace" I think of calm, flowing, serene. Maybe title this "Piece of Mind"...?
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Sarah J, it keeps the eyes moving and you keep discovering different images the longer you look at it. I like it. :)
yes Sarah i see what you and "bish" mean about the "peace of mind" part but i was trying to say that I am searching for "peace of mind" :) which "peace of mind do you like better? thank you all so much for your feedback.
ReplyDeleteI like this too, because of the message of hope it gives me, even darkness and confusion is overcome by a sense of hope and light.
